This is an important leadership role, where your contribution will be valued and so will you! 

We are looking for the best suited applicant for the role, it is expected that the successful candidate will model leadership capabilities and behaviours of a Program Leader as outlined in the Queensland Public Service Commission "Leadership competencies for Queensland" (brochure attached).

The position requires: 
• Proven experience to lead and drive business performance and reform in a regulatory environment. 
• Proven ability to motivate and engage staff, and lead through change, for the strategic delivery of environmental management services, programs and projects.
• A well-developed understanding of contemporary environmental and regulatory development trends, drivers and approaches
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, and the agility and resilience to adapt to a rapidly changing context.
• Superior stakeholder management to pursue the Environmental Services and Regulation division's objectives through communicating with influence in a contested environment.
• Contribution to workplace equity and diversity that enriches our culture of safety, innovation, respect and inclusion. 
• A current unrestricted manual driver licence is desirable

Director, Minerals Business Centre is based in our DETSI Office location of tropical Cairns, North Queensland. Some travel to other locations from time to time will be required, including overnight stays. Travel costs for official business travel will be met by the Department.
