Invasive Plants and Animals (IPA) significantly affect the environment, agricultural production, infrastructure, human health and our way of life in general. The IPA program directs, facilitates and delivers strategic and targeted action to reduce the impact of invasive species in Queensland.
As our biosecurity officer, you will provide operational services that minimise the risks associated with invasive plants and animals in Queensland. With Queensland being affected by more biosecurity incursions than any other Australian state or territory, your efforts will be integral in helping the government prevent, respond to, and recover from biosecurity concerns that threaten our environment and economy.

You will know you're achieving success in the role when you:
• are managing the prioritisation, planning, monitoring, and delivery of workflow within the team
• are using specialist technical knowledge to lead complex investigations and implementing technical solutions to new and evolving biosecurity problems
• are actively facilitating organisational and team capability development.
