Working closely with the Director, Insights, as a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for interpretation and analysis of large and complex data, developing and maintaining business intelligence products, translating and communicating complex research and sourcing a wide variety of quantitative data to explore Queensland's training and labour market.
As the Senior Analyst you will
• Interpret, analyse and manipulate large and complex data from both internal and external datasets, including vocational education and labour market data, to understand issues impacting employment, skills, and training in Queensland or other topics as required.
• Translate complex research and statistical data into clear, easy-to-understand formats for multiple audiences across a range of platforms, including to inform policy development and support department projects.
• Provide expert advice and technical assistance to staff on how to use, interpret and present data effectively for internal and external activities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice data management techniques to ensure data presentation and information sharing meet customer needs.
What we are looking for
The position requires an applicant who can:
• Demonstrated experience and technical skills in analysing, interpreting, reporting and presenting complex data sets to a high standard, often within tight timeframes.
• Demonstrate the ability to contribute effectively in a team environment, working flexibly across multiple projects and managing competing priorities.
• Exhibit professionalism and integrity in your interactions with stakeholders at all levels, including management groups and colleagues.
• Deliver high-level written and visual communications, including reports, research papers, and ministerial and executive briefing documents to inform evidence-based policy development.
