In this role you will lead a high performing team that is responsible for collaborating and engaging with public authorities. The role will support the implementation of a new records management policy framework under the Public Records Act 2023.
This role leads the delivery of statutory functions related to the provision of advice, assistance and training about making and managing public records to external stakeholders. This includes through:
• facilitation of stakeholder enquiries
• delivery of records management advice on Queensland State Archives (QSAs) website
• delivery of a community of practice for records and information management professionals
• other communication mechanisms such as newsletters to external stakeholders.
This role will work in collaboration with other teams within Policy and Assurance, Government Records (PAGR) and across QSA, to deliver the statutory functions specified in the Public Records Act 2023.
As Manager you will:
• Lead, manage and inspire a high performing team with a focus on collaboration and innovative thinking to support QSA's strategic priorities and services
• Lead and manage key projects for PAGRs program of work by allocating resources, monitoring key deliverables, setting performance targets, meeting reporting requirements, making adjustments to resourcing and targets as
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve the standard of whole-of-government recordkeeping through the provision of advice, assistance and training
• Provide high quality advice and support to the Director, PAGR and the Queensland State Archivist on matters relating to records management in government
• Develop, coach and mentor staff, promote teamwork and agility in a changing environment
• Prepare complex briefs, Ministerial correspondence, presentations, papers, other submissions, and letters within short timeframes
• Actively participate in committees and working groups
• Contribute to QSA's strategic work objectives and engage with other managers and staff
• Model the behaviours expected of a leader at QSA including fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, promoting an environment collaboration and teamwork
• Undertake any other duties as directed by the Director, PAGR.
