Work flexibly from either Brisbane or one of our regional centres; Cairns, Gold Coast, Mackay, Maryborough, Rockhampton, Toowoomba, Townsville, Sunshine Coast *Based on office avalibility .

 

The successful candidate will also have the option to engage in a work from home arrangement that suits the team under an approved Flexible Work Arrangement.

Key Outcomes and Accountabilities

  • Undertake compliance financial assessments.
  • Provide expert services and advice concerning the MFR Regulation 2018 and the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all staff of the Commission and external customers.
  • Allocation and monitoring of tasks and projects to other staff within the unit as required.

Candidate Attributes 

  1. Provide guidance on application of relevant legislation, policies and procedures on investigating relative to assessing and taking action on financial issues including:
    1. Business structures
    2. Accounting principles
    3. Knowledge and experience in interpreting legislation and policies, as well as assessing financial statements for companies, businesses, individuals and trusts
  2. Interpret, co-ordinate and implement plans to achieve objectives concerning the MFR Regulations 2018 and the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991.
  3. Use communication and problem solving systems thinking techniques to achieve innovation deliver and promote quality customer service and contribute to the team to achieve outcomes and effective work relationships.
  4. Manage cases using research, investigation, decision-making, planning and report writing skills.
  5. Expertise in statistical reporting systems, using advanced Excel formulas, data validation techniques and reconciliation of statistical information.
  6. Knowledge of accounting concepts is highly desirable.
