Senior Tenancy Manager

You will report to the Client Account Manager and be responsible for implementing policy and procedures and undertaking relevant financial and reporting responsibilities relating to the government employee accommodation portfolio which incorporates a range of residential properties.

The position will incorporate into the portfolio, best practice asset management principles, the latest research and government initiatives to support the service delivery needs of Government Agencies.

What you will be doing:
• Provide strategic leadership, expertise, and advice regarding tenancy and leasing management for the State Government's employee housing portfolio, ensuring alignment with organisational goals, departmental outcomes and Government Employee Housing (GEH)'s strategic vision and priorities.
• Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team by fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous growth and a growth mindset. Tailor communication styles and training to individual needs, demonstrating approachability, compassion and professionalism as a leader.
• Actively contribute as a member of GEH's management team to support clarity, engagement, and the achievement of organisational goals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships through effective communication and consultation with GEH clients and key stakeholders, including honouring the unique cultural strengths and priorities of First Nations peoples to support collaboration and customer-focused outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement by ensuring GEH tenancy and leasing processes are enhanced, adopting industry best practices, and supporting the updating of policies, procedures and resources through effective oversight and partnership.
• Provide timely, well-researched, and insightful advice to departmental executive, including briefing notes, information papers and submissions, to support informed decision-making in complex environments.
• Oversee and report on tenancy and leasing-related transactions, ensuring the timely delivery of data reporting, correspondence, leasing revenue and tenancy/leasing expenditure, while maintaining a high standard of governance and risk management.
• Manage tenancy-related budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure effective financial oversight and alignment with organisational priorities.
• Foster a culture of integrity by promoting transparency and accountability in all tenancy and leasing activities, while modelling ethical behaviour and professionalism.

The skills you will need include being able to:
• Demonstrated experience in leading and supporting teams to achieve desired business outcomes, including recognising, and mobilising the unique talents and capabilities of team members through compassionate leadership, coaching, mentoring, and development planning.
• Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with other government agencies, leveraging diverse perspectives to deliver effective tenancy and leasing solutions for government employees.
• Strong writing and communication skills, with experience in effectively engaging colleagues, managers and clients on sensitive and contentious tenancy-related matters, ensuring clarity, professionalism and adaptability to individual needs.
• Extensive knowledge of residential tenancies and relevant legislation, with the ability to provide expert advice and ensure compliance in all tenancy and leasing activities.
• Demonstrated competence in managing tenancy agreements and leasing portfolios, with a focus on delivering results through professionalism, persistence and transparency.
• Advanced proficiency in computer systems and applications, including a sound working knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel to support data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.
