As Registrar, you play a key role in overseeing the efficient operation of the court registry, focusing on coaching and leading staff for optimal service delivery. Your responsibilities include resource management, community engagement, service improvement, and providing support to the judiciary and various stakeholders.

Leading a team in executing diverse court and registry duties across criminal and civil jurisdictions, you contribute actively to the modernisation and improvement of the court system in Queensland.

• Provide strong and effective leadership, coaching and management to the registry team ensuring a supportive and cohesive workplace environment for all staff;
• Keep stakeholders of the courts at the heart of service delivery and respond to their needs in a trauma-aware and compassionate manner, ensuring the prompt resolution of enquiries, requests issues and complaints;
• Act as the point of escalation for your colleagues to recognise and action risks relating to Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) including anti-social behaviours of court users by completing prescribed assessments and manage the risks presented, including determining appropriate actions and pathways for information sharing with other internal or external parties.
• Ensure compliance with all administrative systems including maintaining data integrity and adhering to established processes, policies and procedures and legislation. This includes interpreting legislation, setting clear objectives and guidelines, monitoring performance indicators, implementing corrective actions as necessary, and regularly reviewing procedures for optimal efficiency;
• Support the Registrars in the efficient management of; daily operations including the coordination of court proceedings and the delivery of services including the preparation and processing of complex court matters. Additionally, workforce planning, performance management, staff development and the provision of timely and constructive feedback to direct reports thereby contributing to the achievement of strategic and operational goals.
• Cultivate and nurture professional and collaborative relationships based on respectful and confidential engagement with key stakeholders including members of the judiciary and their staff, government agencies, self-represented litigants, and the general public to provide effective service delivery and support;
• Implement transparent financial, human resource, data and risk management practices to ensure accountability and efficiency;
• Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing community awareness and understanding of the justice system, while effectively achieving organisational objectives and supporting court users from disadvantaged backgrounds;

• Fulfill statutory duties as a Justice of the Peace, Clerk of the Court and Registrar as required, ensuring compliance with legal obligations and the integrity of court processes; this may include making routine but complex operational and quasijudicial decisions within legislative parameters and follow established procedures, protocols, and governance mechanisms. Any quasi-judicial decisions may be subjective to review by a Court.
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of services, including referral pathways to other Government and third-party services, and relay appropriate knowledge and information to meet stakeholder requirements;
• Manage the recordkeeping activities relevant to a Court Registry (including retention, archiving and disposal activities) through the appropriate allocation of resources.
• Disseminate comprehensive information to the local community regarding government programs, services, and products to foster enhanced awareness and engagement;
• Drive a culture of continuous learning, goal achievement, self-reflection and motivation within the registry team while reinforcing contemporary knowledge, practices and responsiveness to constructive feedback.
