To lead and deliver person centred nursing care at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia – Registered Nurse Standards of Practice. The Clinical Nurse (CN) is expected to be able to practice autonomously and provide leadership in clinical decision making. They have the responsibility for professional leadership in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 and an opportunity to work collaboratively to lead practice changes and clinical innovation.

The Clinical Nurse (CN) is expected to be able to practice autonomously and provide leadership in clinical decision making. They have the responsibility for professional leadership in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 and an opportunity to work collaboratively to lead practice changes and clinical innovation.

The Clinical Nurse has supervisory responsibilities for the Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse, Nursing Undergraduate Students, and Assistants in Nursing within the practice area to ensure the provision of quality, evidence-based care in consultation with members of the multidisciplinary health care team.

Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Sunshine Coast Health Values.
  • Actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, work health and safety and ethical behaviour.

Remuneration value up to $69 907 p.a. p/t, comprising salary rates $54.44 - $58.30 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 6 (1)) (pPermanent Part-Time position, 40 hrs p.f.).
