Accountabilities include:
• Liaise with the Program Support Coordinator (RIS) on identification of Traffic Data Collection Segments and location of sites for various traffic counting devices.
• Design and implement the yearly traffic count program including special projects.
• Install and maintain, permanent and temporary traffic counter sites throughout the District/Region.
• Collect other data such as manual counts, speed surveys, assets and structures as necessary.
• Retrieve traffic data on a regular basis for entry into the Traffic Analysis and Reporting System (TARS) program. Analysis and validate this data, prior to reporting.
• Undertake on site, road network assessments and audits, verifying the accuracy of data in TMR road asset management information systems (ARMIS).
• Analyse, interpret and report data from the departmental asset management system using appropriate reporting and presentation tools to meet Road System business requirements.
• Provide essential support for other functions across the broader South West District team when required (other functions as an example may include: Surveying, Civil Design, Material Testing, Corridor Management) with the possibility of working in the field on the state-controlled road network at various locations or jobsites throughout the district.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
Current holder of a ‘C' class drivers licence
Desirable qualifications and conditions
• Exposure to and/or experience with database and/or asset information systems would be highly regarded.
• Exposure to and/or experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and terminology would be highly regarded.
