Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) is seeking a highly motivated and strategic professional to join the Community Corrections & Specialist Operations Project Delivery Command (CCSO PDC) as a Staff Officer to the Assistant Commissioner. This AO7 position, based in Brisbane CBD, plays a pivotal role in supporting executive leadership through high-level operational assurance, strategic analysis, and coordination of complex initiatives across the division.
As a trusted advisor and a principal executive support officer, you will draw upon your deep understanding of correctional services and the broader criminal justice system to provide timely, informed advice and contribute to the successful delivery of transformational projects. You will manage sensitive correspondence, maintain key data sources, and ensure departmental commitments are met with precision and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational support to the Assistant Commissioner, including briefing preparation, correspondence management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Analyse complex issues and correspondence to identify strategic risks and inform executive decision-making.
- Maintain high-level awareness of project delivery matters across QCS, particularly within Community Corrections and Specialist Operations.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment with strategic goals.
- Contribute to business continuity planning, risk management, and the development of divisional business plans.
- Support the annual Budget Estimates process and other strategic initiatives as directed.

You are a confident communicator and strategic thinker with a strong understanding of government operations and correctional services. You thrive in high-pressure environments, demonstrate sound judgement, and have a proven ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
You will bring:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex matters and propose effective solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Professional writing skills and experience preparing executive-level documentation.
- A commitment to ethical, respectful, and professional conduct in line with QCS values.
- Extensive knowledge of QCS operations, particularly within the CCSO Division.

Salary: $131,677 - $141,002 per annum
