Join our Reef Compliance and Regulation leadership team as a Compliance Delivery Manager.
Our team works with agricultural producers throughout Great Barrier Reef catchments to support the increased adoption of improved farm practice and reduce sediment and nutrient run-off to Reef waters.
As the leader of a dedicated and professional team, your responsibility is to lead a team tasked with delivering farm compliance inspections and permit assessments to ensure agricultural producers and advisors are meeting regulated practice standards for agricultural activities.
Our approach is to engage with industry partners to drive the voluntary adoption of regulated farm practice standards, and this role allows you to explore and adopt new and emerging approaches to regulatory work.
As a Compliance Delivery Manager, you will manage complex environmental issues and provide guidance and advice on compliance activities and environmental risks to key industry stakeholders and management; and lead the development of strategies to address risk management and complex environmental issues.
We are looking for someone wanting to take their leadership skills to the next level. You will bring high-level experience in implementation of compliance and assessment legislative functions, and experience in the day-to-day management of a team. You will be a skilled and motivated team player who values team culture and can work seamlessly with both their team members and broader departmental staff. Your practical approach, coupled with the capacity to mentor and train others, will enable you to work effectively alongside others to enable capability uplift.
You will be a natural problem solver, with the ability to think on your feet and a natural communicator, at ease when presented with challenging or sensitive conversations. Your knowledge of stakeholder engagement practices and mechanisms to effectively engage and work collaboratively with agricultural producers and industry will be instrumental in enabling the delivery of key projects and initiatives across the program.
Drawing on your applied knowledge, you will be able to resolve complex and contentious matters relating to environmental management and regulation, provide guidance and advice to the Reef Compliance and Regulation team, consider recommendations and make decisions, and lead the development of strategies to address risk management and complex environmental issues.
Your role will be to promote compliance with relevant legislation and policies and advocate consistency in administrative decision making.
