The Operational Performance, Data Analytics and Reporting Group (OPDARG) works with QCS Command leaders to assist in the achievement of corporate and strategic business objectives.

This includes: proactively setting performance targets and prisoner and offender forecasts while actively communicating these to the business.

This is achieved through assessing, analysing and reporting on operational performance, as well as engaging with the business to interpret analysis to ensure that early corrective actions can be implemented.

In this role you will contribute by assessing, analysing and reporting on operational performance, as well as engaging with the business to interpret the analysis and to develop early corrective actions.

The primary accountabilities of the Principal Adviser include:

• Contribute to the implementation of the QCS Operational Performance Review Framework and mechanisms collecting, analysing and reporting performance outcomes to support senior management decision making particularly in relation to corporate governance accountabilities and non-financial performance.
• Provide high level quality and expert advice and recommendations to the Director, OPDARG on diverse and complex range of issues relevant to performance management and monitoring.
• Provide strategic analysis of variations and trends in organisational performance and advice regarding significant variations from targets.
• Prepare reports, submissions, briefs and other correspondence in relation to the performance outputs and outcomes in the Directorate.
• Work with senior managers to align organisational strategies to performance and improve performance measurement, evaluation and reporting practices in QCS.
• Contribute to the development of high-level corporate reporting documents such as Service Delivery Statements, Annual Report and other Output Reports through the provision of performance reports and information.
• Maintain and apply up-to-date knowledge of organisational performance and policy issues facing Queensland Corrective Services and its stakeholders.
• Undertake liaison, consultation, discussion and negotiation with key internal stakeholders to ensure effective operations in order to achieve strategic and
operational outcomes The role description provides the minimum requirements for the role. The incumbent may be required to undertake other duties as required outside of these primary accountabilities.
