We’re Queensland’s work health and safety regulator, part of the Office of Industrial
Relations (OIR). Our purpose is to improve work health and safety and reduce the risk of work-related fatalities, injuries, and illness in Queensland workplaces. We work with industry and assist businesses to create a safe and healthy culture in Queensland places of work.
We do this by:
- Making sure work health and safety laws are followed.
- Investigating work-related fatalities and serious injuries.
- Educating workplaces on ways to comply with legislation.
- Educating employees and employers on their legal obligations.
- Taking legal action when work health and safety laws are broken.

As Principal Advisor (Psychosocial), you will assess and triage all complaints and incident notifications received by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland in relation to the managing the risk of psychosocial hazards in the workplace code of practice.
While there are no mandatory conditions or qualifications for this role, qualifications and /or experience within fields of psychology, counselling etc. are highly desirable. Please see attached position description for key responsibilities and role-specific capabilities.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is responsive in a fast paced and dynamic work environment. You will be accountable, able to problem solve, work collaboratively and take ownership to enable success in this role.
