What your day will look like….

As a Roster Officer, you'll play a key role in the coordination of the centres rosters, vacancy roster allocation and payroll to support the Centre. You will be supported by a strong Human Resources team to understand the needs for the centre and provide contemporary Human Resources, administrative and clerical support. You will be developed and trained in all the various functions within the Human Resources team. The variety of the work will also see you manage time and attendance records, process leave, maintain administrative records and processing and providing advice on Payroll transactions. You'll be a key player in ensuring smooth operations and supporting continuous improvement in the correctional facility.

Our ideal candidate will be someone who is flexible, loves a challenge and can:

  • Demonstrate staff roster management skills, preferably within a 24/7 operating environment, or show the ability to rapidly learn how to complete roster management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to process manual payroll timesheets and records within a strict timeframe.
  • Show planning & organisation skills to ensure tasks are completed within the required deadlines and in accordance with all legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Show problem solving skills with the ability to apply a range of problem-solving strategies and show initiative in identifying and solving problems both independently and as a team member.
  • Has good communication and Interpersonal skills both oral and written for gathering and providing information both over the phone and in person, from a range of stakeholders and can show the ability to listen, understand and to negotiate with staff on staffing/roster management and HR related issues.

Question 1. The Roster Officer plays a key role in the coordination of the centres rosters in a 24/7 operating environment. Question 2. The Roster Officer plays a key role in the manual processing of payroll timesheets and entitlements on a daily basis. Please describe your experience processing payroll and entitlements and systems utilised to complete this task. If you do not have experience within this area outline your transferable skills.

Question 3. The Roster Officer has regular contact with employees on providing Human Resources services and information. Tell us about your service delivery and communication skills.
