The Director, Portfolio Review ensures the owned Social Housing portfolio operates to its full potential through the implementation of asset-based decisions as they pertain to redevelopment, major upgrades and renewal, and divestment.

The team works with Housing Service Centres (HSCs) to influence and deliver portfolio strategy and objectives, in addition to liaising with HSCs to facilitate tenant relocations.

The team manages a number of short-term leasing arrangements and has responsibility for negotiations with adjoining owners, including, local authorities and state agencies around access to department property, easements, resumption matters and property conveyancing.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the HSC/regional Strategic Asset Management engagement in relation to property matters, including divestment, redevelopment and major upgrades. Deliver precinct-based portfolio strategies, including liaising with HSCs to facilitate tenant relocations.
  • Responsible for identifying and realising redevelopment opportunities within the existing housing portfolio.
  • Oversee the engagement and performance of technical property advisory firms to inform property and portfolio decisions.
  • Responsible for sales program management (dwellings, including Sale to Tenants and land).
    Provide property and valuation advice.
  • Lead the management of long-term non-social housing leases including perpetual leases and employer leases in mining communities.
  • Lead land bank review and oversight, access and easements, "property rights", reporting, and co-ordination.
  • Provide advice on land tenure and native title matters with Legal Services and property conveyancing.
  • Operate with a commercial mindset to stimulate portfolio development growth.
  • Supporting and helping maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.
