Statewide Manager SMS Operations
Sentence Management Services; Specialist Operations; Community Corrections & Specialist Operations; Brisbane
The Statewide Managers will be responsible for the management of either:
• Lawful Detention Unit
• Prisoner Progression (Parole Reports and Low Custody decisions);
• Operations (Capacity Management, Practice and Development)
These roles operate on a rotational basis, subject to consultation with incumbents. This is to support knowledge sharing and succession planning to ensure continual delivery of these mandated critical QCS functions.

The most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills, and experience against these essential role requirements of the Individual Contributor leadership stream:
• Strong senior leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor and encourage others to adhere to legislative and procedural provisions.
• Proven experience in managing risk and in developing mitigation strategies to ensure accuracy and compliance with legislation, policy and procedures.
• Proven experience in, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and understanding of:
o sentence management and sentence administration practices,
o the interpretation and application of statutory provisions relating to offender management
o a criminal justice environment or similar human services/regulatory agency
• Proven experience in developing and managing stakeholder relationships, namely providing timely advice on complex issues, negotiating outcomes whilst
maintaining internal and external networks
• Knowledge and skills in developing and promoting the operations of a unit, specifically, service delivery improvements, development of innovative solutions, and ability to monitor trends to inform future decisions
• Proven experience in working within a strategic environment, identifying opportunities and promoting and managing change across the whole of sentence
management services
