The Director, Metropolitan Workforce Planning Unit is responsible for developing and implementing workforce planning strategies that align with organisational goals and ensure staffing levels are optimised to meet the operational needs of both the Metro South and Metro North Regions.

The role leads a diverse team to deliver efficient and effective workforce scheduling services to enable the continuous delivery of ambulance services to the community.

The role reports directly to the Assistant Commissioner, Metro South Region, and partners with the leadership team of Metro North and Metro South Regions.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:

* Demonstrated high level leadership and management expertise in identifying contemporary issues affecting the delivery and support of workforce planning and rostering activities in a complex operational environment.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse and professional team in a complex operational environment of competing priorities and needs with limited resources.
* Proven success in leading and implementing organisational change and service system reform to ensure the service delivery systems are increasingly responsive to the needs of patients, staff and stakeholders.
* Superior conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, including a demonstrated ability to interpret financial and trend/output/outcome performance
data to drive performance improvement.
* Demonstrated highly developed communication, negotiation, consultation and collaboration skills with the proven ability to advocate persuasively to achieve desired outcomes and build and maintain productive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Proven capabilities and experience in strategic planning and the provision of policy advice, in particular, the ability to contribute to the development and implementation of workforce management policies, procedures, standards and service improvement initiatives.
