As a Senior Spatial Systems Officer based in Brisbane, your day will be spent applying technical expertise and collaborative smarts to support, maintain and enhance spatial applications and tools that are crucial to the department's operations. You'll lead and contribute to spatial application projects—from scoping requirements and managing vendors to testing, troubleshooting and delivering enhancements within budget and on time. A big-ticket item on your to-do list?
You'll be responsible for improving how spatial services are delivered, ensuring key systems are documented, maintained and performing reliably. Whether you're developing user guides and managing vendors, coordinating updates, or preparing written material like briefing notes and project documentation, you'll play a key part in building smart, efficient, and sustainable systems. You'll also contribute to information management practices and work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical teams, ensuring systems are user-focused and fit-for-purpose.
You'll work closely with end users and service providers, delivering responsive support, identifying improvement opportunities, and documenting technical processes like a pro. Your strong writing skills will shine in the creation of user guides, business requirements and briefing materials. You'll be part of a tight-knit team of five who value knowledge-sharing and collaboration, all while championing information management best practices. No two days are the same—expect a dynamic mix of stakeholder liaison, project coordination, and hands-on problem solving.
