About the Team
The Governance team leads governance best practice through assurance practices and continuous improvement. The team is structurally aligned within the Strategy, Performance, Risk and Governance (SPRG) Unit of TMR's Governance Branch, Corporate and is accountable for elements of organisational governance, legislative compliance, assurance activities and capability uplift.
Responsibilities and capabilities required for this role include:
• Strategic Development: Lead and support aspects of the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of child safe compliance and governance, reforms, and activities.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management: Build and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to facilitate successful compliance initiatives.
• Governance Advisory Services: Provide technical advice on compliance best practice and governance, policies and processes and risk management practices to support robust decision-making. Develop and deliver training and other products for capability uplift of compliance and governance functions and activities.
• Governance Assurance: Research, assess and evaluate the effectiveness of compliance and performance practices to identify compliance gaps and drive process improvements.
• Adaptability and Emotional Intelligence: Possess highly developed emotional and social intelligence and the ability to adapt to change, navigate ambiguity, and retain composure in high-pressure or uncertain situations.
Skills & Experience
• Working knowledge of planning, stakeholder engagement, compliance and change management practices, delegations, department wide coordination of projects.
• Ability to interpret legislation and provide advice on policy development and implementation.
• Ability to manage diverse range of stakeholders and activities simultaneously.
• 5+ years working in compliance or assurance fields is desirable
