The Product Manager, Frontline Communications is a key role which provides expert advice and high-level support to the Director, Frontline Services Group, to support the delivery of high-quality patient care services utilising contemporary, safe and cost-effective resources.
The role develops and maintains influential stakeholder relationships across government and private sector agencies and contributes to the achievement of key strategic outcomes and the future of QAS frontline service delivery.
The role is responsible for managing the QAS elements of all frontline communications systems across Queensland and the coordination of organisation-wide projects, testing, governance, risk analysis, solutioning and reporting processes.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
• Demonstrated expert knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues impacting on the delivery of ambulance services and the proven ability to provide expert advice and support to internal and external stakeholders regarding the operational processes, systems and technologies that support the provision of high-quality ambulance service delivery.
• Extensive experience in providing authoritative, expert advice and producing thorough, well researched policy and procedural documents to support senior leadership / executive decision making and to achieve key strategic outcomes as they relate to frontline communications.
• Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills including a demonstrated ability to interpret performance and financial trend/outcome data and operationalise this information to make complex judgements and inform the QAS and wider state government senior leaders, contributing to high quality decision making.
• Demonstrated superior oral and written communication skills with the proven ability to build productive relationships and liaise, advise and negotiate effectively with a diverse range of key stakeholders including the QAS executive leadership team; frontline officers; state, national and international emergency service organisations; state and federal government departments; national and multinational private sector parties; and other industry bodies.
• Highly developed organisational and interpersonal skills, including the proven ability to lead and inspire diverse, professional teams in a complex operational environment of competing priorities and needs with limited resources, to deliver high quality outcomes and meet critical timelines.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct ongoing research, reviews and evaluations of evolving and contemporary pre-hospital care service delivery models, in line with QAS project and resource management principles and practices.
The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:
• Applicants must have a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Paramedicine or Health Science (Paramedic), or an Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Ambulance); OR a Certificate III in Ambulance Communications - Call Taking and a Certificate IV in Ambulance Communications - Dispatch and certification to practice as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher in Queensland; or equivalent qualifications, as determined by the Commissioner, QAS.
• Applicants are required to hold an open Queensland “C” Class Driver's Licence.
• Whilst not mandatory, tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in ICT, project management or a business-related discipline will be highly regarded.
• Position will be required to undertake on-call duties.
