As Procurement Officer, you will help achieve this by:
- Contributing to EDQ's tactical procurement function through procurement planning and provision of end-to-end procurement activities in relation to high value and risk projects including ICT procurement projects, minor and major works and construction contracts.
- Applying specialist knowledge in providing advice across a range of procurement related areas including procurement policy, invitation and evaluation strategies, contract development and management.
- Contributing to the delivery of savings and benefits to EDQ through the delivery of whole of government, consortium and agency specific procurement arrangements, and by providing expert advice on procurement related matters.
- Ensuring effective and efficient delivery of procurement and purchasing activities in line with organisational objectives.
- Assisting in influencing the capability and profile of procurement within EDQ and contribute to the development of knowledge and expertise of purchasing staff in the delivery of effective procurement practices.
The successful candidate will be someone who is keen to learn and enjoys procurement with strengths in:
- Understanding and applying the Queensland Procurement Policy and other policies and legislation relating to procurement activities
- Stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- An ability to prioritise tasks to achieve deadlines
- Problem solving and applying sound judgement in decision-making
- Drafting reports and documents
There no mandatory qualifications required for this role however having the following would be advantageous:
- Knowledge of Queensland Procurement Policy
- Completion of PCP Level 1, 2 and 3 or in the process of obtaining this certification
- Content Manager or similar document management system experience
