In the role of Senior Advisor (Road Safety), you will contribute to the development and delivery of strategic road safety initiatives aimed at improving outcomes for school communities and the broader public. You will be responsible for engaging with community stakeholders, and managing team performance to ensure highquality service delivery. This role also involves overseeing financial and human resources, supporting departmental collaboration, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and safety requirements.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Conducting research, analyse and report on road safety data, trends, issues and opportunities, to establish objectives and clear direction.
• Collaborating with departmental staff and representatives of other government agencies and community groups to address strategic road safety outcomes and comply with departmental customer service quality and performance standards.
• Managing financial and human resources to ensure operational efficiency and professional road safety service delivery through the interpretation and implementation of financial and operational plans.
• Effectively managing all aspects of the team's workforce, including employee behaviour/conduct, appraisal and development, workplace health and safety, and recruitment and selection.
• Engaging with the community and conduct research and analysis of community information, community data and other information to establish clear direction and objectives.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• The incumbent holds a current C or CA class driver license.
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• The successful applicant must hold and maintain a Working with children check (Blue Card) upon commencement of employment and at all times while employed by TMR.
Requirements of the role
• Strong time management and organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage changing priorities and deliver outputs.
• High level of interpersonal skills, as well as communication skills, both orally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders on complex matters.
• Leads by example through being accountable for own learning and eagerly pursues new knowledge and experiences.
• Accepts challenges in the delivery of work and demonstrates persistence in working through obstacles.
• Carefully plans and organises own workload to achieve results and implements reporting mechanisms with honest recognition of progress against goals.
