Role details
The Emergency Department at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for an Associate Clinical Nurse Consultant to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity
The Associate Clinical Nurse Consultant is a registered nurse who provides advanced clinical expertise and consultancy in collaboration with the Nurse Grade 7 team. The ACNC provides direct and indirect care as required and works with the wider health care team of Emergency Department ensuring patient and unit goals are achieved. In supporting the department, they provide advanced clinical knowledge and skills, leadership and direction to nursing/midwifery staff and is responsible for the facilitation and provision of safe, quality and cost-effective nursing/midwifery care consistent with contemporary standards and best practice in emergency nursing and patient flow.
This role provides leadership and direction to nursing staff and is responsible for the facilitation and provisions of operations and Human Resource Management consistent with contemporary standards and best practice within the Emergency Department.
About the Team
The Emergency Department provides a 24hr service including triage by qualified emergency staff and advanced care for all presentations. It also provides high quality trauma care to medium and minor level trauma patients and capable of stabilising trauma patients until transfers. The department is a mixed aged service, with both adults and children presenting for care and treatment.
