We're looking for an AO7 Principal Stakeholder Relationship Officer to join the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development Stakeholder Relations team. This is a temporary full-time position based in Rockhampton or another suitable Central Queensland location. You'll be responsible for driving regional engagement, strengthening local partnerships and ensuring community, industry, and council perspectives are heard in government decision-making. You'll coordinate place-based engagement planning, support regional events and forums, and provide strategic advice and analysis on local development issues, government programs, and emerging opportunities. You'll also play a lead role in facilitating Ministerial visits, supporting Cabinet submissions and representing the department at community and industry forums.

About you
You'll bring strong strategic communication skills, experience in government or regional development, and a collaborative mindset. You're comfortable navigating complex issues and are confident working across a broad range of stakeholders, including local councils, Traditional Owners, business leaders and senior executives. You'll be part of a 10-person team that supports regional delivery across three departments, including Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water; Agriculture and Fisheries; and Environment, Science and Innovation.
