Join our Family Law Services Division as a Senior Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. This is an exciting opportunity to help lead one of Australia’s largest dispute resolution programs. You will work closely with the Director of Dispute Resolution Services (DRS) to provide leadership, strategic direction, and policy advice, while also conducting family dispute resolution conferences and arbitrations.

About the role
As a Senior Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with Legal Aid Queensland, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping innovative dispute resolution initiatives that make a real difference in the lives of disadvantaged Queenslanders. You'll lead by example, mentoring and coaching a dedicated team of practitioners while conducting family dispute resolution conferences and arbitrations. Your expertise will help resolve complex parenting and property settlement disputes in line with legislative requirements.
In this role, you'll collaborate with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to drive continuous improvement in service delivery. You'll also have the opportunity to represent Legal Aid Queensland in forums, contribute to policy and law reform, and support the professional development of your colleagues. This is your chance to combine your legal expertise, leadership skills, and passion for social justice in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will:
- Be admitted or eligible for immediate admission as a legal practitioner in Queensland, with a current practising certificate.
- Be an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner or eligible for registration.
- Have experience in family law, particularly in parenting and property settlement disputes, as well as knowledge of domestic and family violence and child protection matters.
- Demonstrate strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a trauma-informed approach.
- Be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a challenging environment.
