Former Customer Services Branch - TMR. This position is part of the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB) as part of the recent Machinery-of-Government changes. CDSB is currently in negotiations for a certified agreement to cover all CDSB employees. In the meantime, the TMR Agreement conditions apply to this position.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and recommendations to the Regional Director, managers and employees within the region on a wide range of complex human resource and change management issues as required.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide expert HR advice to regional employees and management which focuses on reaching solutions.
  • Provide strategic human resource advice concerning significant human resource management and organisational change issues.
  • Educate, coach, and enable line managers to support their ongoing responsibility for effective and proactive people management within the Region.
  • Develop, negotiate, and maintain relationships and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders including Regional Director, managers, employees, Divisional and Corporate HR.
  • Present concise, high quality and timely correspondence and submissions of a complex nature on the full range of people management issues within the Region.

What you will need to have:

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in the provision of a high-quality HR consultancy service delivering expert advice to management and employees on significant human resource management and change management issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong client and stakeholder relationships in a customer service delivery environment.
  • Highly developed analytical and diagnostic skills with the demonstrated ability to formulate, negotiate and implement proactive strategies to support management in the ongoing development of a positive and high performing workplace.
  • Highly developed oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with particular emphasis on consulting, liaising and negotiating with a wide range of clients and the preparation of high quality, concise and timely submissions to management
  • Demonstrated knowledge and developed expertise in the application of contemporary human resource management legislation, enterprise agreements, awards, policies, and practices to achieve business outcomes
  • In addition, this role requires the leadership capabilities of an Individual Contributor as outlined in the Leadership competencies for Queensland booklet.
