Finance Officer

An AO5 Finance Officer vacancy is available in the Finance Division of the Queensland Revenue Office. This role will be based in the Brisbane CBD.
This role is involved in delivering a range of finance related services including budget planning, performance reporting, financial system maintenance, financial policies and procedures management, and internal control compliance activities.
The position is based in our Brisbane office with flexible work options available and access to professional growth pathways.

Your typical day as a Finance Officer may include:
• Provide advice to internal and external stakeholders on budgetary and financial management matters.
• Assist internal clients with the development of budget and ongoing monitoring of financial performance.
• Contribute toward the preparation of management reports.
• Assist in developing and maintaining strong and constructive relationships with key stakeholders.
• Strive to become a subject matter expert in the budgets you will maintain.
• Facilitate upload of financial data, ensuring general ledger integrity and accuracy of data.
• Assist in preparation of journals, reports and analysis to meet deadlines including month and year end deliverables.
• Work as part of the team in delivering financial services whilst participating in an environment which delivers a skilled, motivated and productive team committed to organisational goals.
You will be supported by a positive, constructive team and divisional leaders as you do your work.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
• Experience in effectively analysing and reporting on large volumes of data.
• Experience in financial customer service with the ability to communicate to non-finance stakeholders in a relatable manner; and
• Experience in a dynamic and busy environment with conflicting deadlines.
