As Director, Strategic Communication, you'll lead a high-performing team of communication strategists and technical experts to deliver innovative, impactful and timely engagement across Queensland. Your day could begin with shaping the department's media response to a breaking issue, briefing executives on key stakeholder opportunities, or providing strategic advice to mitigate potential risks. You'll work alongside ministerial staff to ensure consistent, compelling narratives and you'll bring creative flair to content creation, event planning and public engagement campaigns.
Your leadership will foster a collaborative, inclusive and high-energy team culture, empowering staff to deliver best-practice communication that supports policy and service outcomes. You'll oversee multiple complex projects at once, from high-profile events to sector-leading communication initiatives, while ensuring resources, budgets and timelines are effectively managed. In this role, relationships are everything: you'll build strong connections across the department, with industry partners, and with key decision-makers to enhance our communication capability and influence.
You'll also play a key role in the broader Communication business group, contributing to cultural strategies that prioritise psychological safety, innovation and continuous improvement. By balancing creativity with strategic oversight, you'll make sure our communication efforts not only inform, but inspire, engage and create real impact across Queensland communities.
