Senior Project Officer

The Senior Project Officer oversees the administration of DETSI grant programs in accordance with the DETSI Grants Administration Framework, contributing to the economic development of Queensland’s tourism industry. This role plays a pivotal part in grant application and assessment processes, including compliance and eligibility assessments, supporting assessment panels and preparing executive documentation.

The Senior Project Officer also manages the development and ongoing administration of grant agreements, ensuring assessment processes are completed on time, reporting is of a high standard and recipients are adequately supported through case management. The role involves managing grant processes through systems such as SmartyGrants, including contract entry, milestone tracking and financial acquittals.

As the Senior Project Officer you will:
• Support the application and assessment framework for new funding programs, including:
 o Co-ordination of compliance and eligibility assessments for applications received.
 o Supporting assessment panels, including coordination of meetings, ensuring governance and maintaining records.
 o Preparing executive documentation.
• Develop, review and implement grant agreements with successful grant recipients.
• Monitor project milestones, reporting, and financial acquittals to ensure compliance and successful delivery.
• Administer grant management systems (e.g. SmartyGrants), including contract entry, milestone tracking and acquittal requirements.
• Provide high level advice to the Manager, Grant Programs - Tourism, on issues related to grant administration.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and governance of funding programs and initiatives that:
 o Support the Whole-of-Government tourism strategy,
 o Drive new and renewed investment,
 o Enhance industry capability in partnership with the tourism industry and other government agencies,
 o Ensure alignment with departmental and government priorities.
• Foster best practice in grants administration and actively contribute to a process of continuous improvement of DETSI grant administration processes.
• Build and maintain effective networks with senior internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry and business associations.
• Promote a positive workplace culture based on values and behaviours that ensure a safe, healthy, diverse, respectful, and inclusive work environment.
• Support and promote the interests of First Nations people and actively contribute to better outcomes for First Nations communities.
