Placement Services Support Team is a part of the Placements, Investment and Partnerships Directorate along with the Investment and Partnerships Team.
Placement Services ensures the delivery of high quality out-of-home care services to children is part of an integrated child protection response. Placement Service comprises of several teams that provide placement support responses to Child Safety Service Centres in the Brisbane and Moreton Bay Region.
This role works directly in the Individualised Placement Support (IPS) Business Services Team to provide a high level of support in relation to Individual Placement Support packages and financial arrangements.

The Administration Officer role provides high quality administrative support, including maintenance of effective office and administrative systems to Placement Services teams with the Brisbane and Moreton Region.
This role focuses predominantly on supporting the creation and approval processes for financial support/placement packages of young people and families whilst ensuring compliance with department financial practices, pricing schedules and guidelines.
You will work as part of a collaborative team of specialised administration professionals to process high volumes of work, you will be comfortable seeking out additional information and working with minimal supervision to progress and finalise tasks.
As an Administration Officer you will:
- Processing high volumes of invoices to regulated financial deadlines.
- Review and progression of financial package requests to ensure compliance with financial practices, pricing schedules and guidelines.
- Investigate financial enquiries ensuring timely, accurate solutions are reached.
- Liaise with departmental officers and other Government and non-Government organisations as necessary.
- Provide rotational secretariat support to IPS regional panels
- Provide a high standard of skills in a range of software packages and databases in the administration of services provided by the region.
- Contribute to effective team work by developing an understanding of the roles and duties of other team members and working collaboratively to deliver services to the region.
- Undertake financial, human resource and administrative duties as required
- Develop and maintain effective administrative systems, recordkeeping and business reporting including organisation of meetings, correspondence, minute taking, appointments, petty cash, taxi vouchers, accommodation and travel arrangements
- Administer financial processes including ordering, payments of accounts, petty cash, monthly monitoring and reconciliation in accordance with current legislative and departmental accounting practices.
- Enhance the local regional community by actively practicing and promoting excellence in service delivery and public administration and identifying opportunities for improving regional client service.
