We are seeking a Principal Spatial Science Officer (PO5) to provide technical leadership and governance in Geographic Information Science and Technology (GIS&T) across the Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office. Based in Brisbane, this permanent role will play a key part in supporting major rail infrastructure projects such as Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail, Beerburrum to Nambour, and the New Albion Station project. You will lead the development and integration of geospatial data, systems, and standards, driving innovation and ensuring consistency across digital platforms. The Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office (RIDO) is delivering some of Queensland's most significant transport infrastructure projects, shaping the future of travel across South East Queensland.

As a Principal Spatial Sciences Officer, you will provide expert advice, analysis and data management to support major rail project delivery. Working closely with technical specialists, project teams, and stakeholders, you will ensure spatial data and GIS services are delivered to a high standard, supporting informed decisionmaking across planning, design and construction.

This role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in spatial sciences to large-scale, high-profile projects that will transform rail services for customers and communities. You will be responsible for managing complex datasets, ensuring data integrity, leading the development of innovative GIS solutions and providing strategic insights to project teams.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused professional who enjoys solving problems, working collaboratively, and delivering practical solutions in a fast-paced environment. Your work will directly contribute to shaping Queensland's transport network, providing benefits for generations to come.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Leading the delivery and integration of RIDO's ESRI Enterprise suite and spatial services across major rail projects.
• Ensuring the quality, integrity, and accessibility of geospatial data to support project planning and delivery.
• Providing expert, strategic advice on complex spatial challenges to internal and external stakeholders.
• Contributing to the development of policies, standards, and innovative solutions in Geographic Information Science and Technology.
• Building strong relationships with industry partners, consultants, and academic institutions to drive collaboration and continuous improvement.
