In the role of Manager (Delivery & Operations) and as a member of the District Leadership Team, you will support the Regional Director in achieving the region’s strategic outcomes by sponsoring, coordinating, and accepting final accountability for the delivery of the district’s total program of infrastructure projects.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide authoritative, strategic, and operational program management advice to the District Director and Program Managers on program delivery issues, as well as providing project management leadership to Project Managers across the portfolio of regional transport infrastructure projects during the development and implementation phases.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of projects against program priorities to the District Director, Program Performance Advisor and Program Management Team
  • Develop and maintain ongoing constructive relationships with other government agencies and jurisdictions, industry, stakeholders, community, and internal and external client networks and lead the public consultation and communication activities associated with the /district program to ensure that effective engagement is undertaken.
  • Ensure the application of all relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and quality of outcomes is maintained with respect to all phases of project delivery of road infrastructure projects on the works program.
  • Investigate and resolve complex issues associated with projects and prepare submissions and reports relating to planning and technical issues to improve overall performance and ensure value-for-money and effective project delivery.
  • Act as ‘Representative of the Principal' for the delivery of contracts as defined and delegated at the implementation phase.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions

  • Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to this role.
  • A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
  • Current 'Class C' driver license
  • Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.

  • Broadens knowledge and perspective by seeking new collaborations and experiences and participating in development initiatives.
  • A comprehensive understanding of complex road program development and delivery within an infrastructure environment, including negotiation with stakeholders and incorporating the management, administration, and delivery of complex contracts in road and bridge design, construction, and maintenance.
  • Applies program management principles and methodology to manage projects and achieve project and program outcomes.
