In temporary role of Temporary Principal Advisor (Contracts Engagement) within Commercial Partnerships, you will apply your technical expertise, communication skills and analytical capabilities to lead stakeholder engagement across public and private sector organisations, supporting the procurement of next-generation public transport service contracts.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement an engagement program to support the delivery of a contracting framework and next-generation public transport service contracts across South East and Regional Queensland.
- Provide strategic planning, leadership, and oversight to ensure the engagement program is effective, efficient, and aligned with desired outcomes.
- Lead stakeholder engagement across internal and external parties—including TMR divisions, industry groups, and service partners—while maintaining strict probity and confidentiality standards.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform engagement strategies, contract principles, and future procurement processes, and prepare high-level reports, briefs, and correspondence.
- Maintain expertise in contemporary contracting and public transport operations, identify strategic risks and opportunities, and contribute to shaping policy, legislation, and strategic sourcing initiatives
Requirements of the role
- Comprehensive knowledge, understanding and application of contract management principles, ideally within a transport setting.
- Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to successfully liaise and negotiate with a wide variety of stakeholders within the public and private sectors and influence others on issues of strategic significance.
- Understanding of the management of public transport to conduct engagement sessions, analyse important information, and develop recommendations and strategies for next generation service contract procurement.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, and broader contemporary and emerging issues, policies and trends affecting the delivery of public transport services.
- Our workforce needs to be able to respond quickly to new and emerging priorities. You may be required to undertake alternative duties to support project priorities and service delivery.
