The purpose of the Manager (Road Safety Research & Evaluation) is to lead and oversee a program of research and evaluation to inform complex road safety strategic and investment decisions; and to inform road safety policy development.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Develop, lead, manage, and conduct a strategic research and evaluation program to inform policy and program initiatives aimed to improve road safety outcomes.
• Lead the Queensland Road Safety - Research and Evaluation Advisory Group (REAG) and provide high level advice to senior executives to inform the strategic direction and investment decisions for road safety. 
• Build and maintain strategic networks and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at a senior level and represent the department or government on high level committees and working groups. 
• Develop business and operational plans to achieve the strategic research and evaluation program, manage implementation (incorporating budgets, financial management, human resources administration, payroll, correspondence and procurement), monitor progress and report on performance. 

Highly desirable qualifications/registrations
• You possess a degree and/or post-graduate (qualification) with major studies in behavioural sciences or another related discipline. 
• A record of significant achievement in leading teams to achieve strategic organisational goals, including leading research and evaluation programs, will be desirable. 

Mandatory qualifications/conditions
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
