The Small and Family Business Programs team within the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business delivers innovative grant programs and support initiatives to empower small businesses across Queensland. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to the development, administration, and evaluation of grant programs that directly support the growth and sustainability
of small and family businesses.
Your work will involve collaborating with stakeholders, driving continuous improvement in program delivery, and ensuring that grant activities align with government priorities and community needs. In this role, you will play a critical part in advancing the department's strategic objectives by implementing and refining grant programs that strengthen the small business sector, promote innovation, and contribute to economic growth across Queensland.
Your responsibilities
As the Senior Program Officer, you will:
• Drive continuous improvement in delivery by evaluating programs, reviewing documentation, and analysing assessments to align future programs with government priorities.
• Prepare responses for supervisor endorsement, providing prompt and effective responses to ministerial requests, departmental enquiries, and grant recipient queries. This includes management of shared mailboxes.
• Chair regular team meetings, fostering collaboration and effective decisionmaking within the team.
• Organise team activities and communications to promote team cohesion and support operational goals.
• Utilise CRM, SmartyGrants, and eDRMS systems to manage grants administration, ensure compliance, and maintain accurate records.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and innovative grant design solutions.
• Coordinate updates to the Business Queensland website to ensure accurate and timely information about programs.
• Assist in designing grant application forms, managing submission processes, and publishing grant rounds in alignment with launch schedules.
• Contribute to the Policy and Program Division strategic priorities by providing administrative and operational support to advance organisational initiatives.
This position is part of the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB) as part of the recent Machinery-of-Government changes. CDSB is currently in negotiations for a certified agreement to cover all CDSB employees. In the meantime, the Core Agreement conditions apply to this position.
