Step into a regional-facing role where every day is different and your impact is real. As the Senior Project Officer, Regional Engagement, you'll work side-by-side with the Director to support engagement across government, industry and community. Whether you're based in Cairns, Longreach, Mackay, Mareeba, Maryborough, Rockhampton, Toowoomba or Townsville - you'll be the reliable go-to person who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
Your day might start by triaging the Director's diary, locking in meetings with stakeholders from across the state, coordinating travel plans for regional site visits and responding to urgent requests for briefing materials. Before morning tea, you'll be prepping documentation for an upcoming engagement forum, checking logistics, sending calendar invites and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. As the day rolls on, you could be updating SharePoint folders, pulling together stakeholder communications, or drafting a letter to accompany a Cabinet briefing note.
You'll also support regional staff with project coordination and provide a link between what's happening on the ground and what's needed at the strategic level. From processing HR and finance tasks, to collating data for business reports, to quietly flagging ways to make admin systems better - you're across it all. You bring structure to a busy environment and help the team shine.
