Executive Manager, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Strategy and Planning is responsible for providing strategic leadership and management of ICT and information management (IM) planning and strategy development and implementation. The role is also responsible for maturing the QAS Information Security Management System. It will engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of major organisational ICT outcomes.

Seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:

  • Proven expertise in ICT strategic planning, strategy development and architectural alignment in a complex, mission-critical, geographically dispersed organisation.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills, ability to negotiate with influence and establish positive, strategic partnerships and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly developed research, analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills including proven capacity to initiate appropriate strategic and operational responses to key issues affecting the organisation.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge and understanding of the major trends, strategic directions and legislative and governance frameworks within the ICT environment and the ability to gain strong stakeholder support and understanding of the program's value.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage small/virtual teams in the delivery of high-quality services that contribute to successful client outcomes.

The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:

  • Whilst not mandatory, a degree in an ICT/IM discipline and/or certification in Auditing and Information Security Management System and Lead Auditor ISO 19011:2018 will be highly regarded.
  • A knowledge and understanding of the Queensland Government Enterprise Architecture 2.0 is highly desirable
