As Executive Director, Technical Services, you’ll lead a multi-disciplinary geographically dispersed team to deliver a diverse portfolio of complex mining, & petroleum and gas projects, across Queensland.Including:abandoned mine remediation & recommercialisation programs,management of state-owned noncommercial water assets &, exploration & drill core facilities.

As Executive Director, Technical Services, you'll lead a multi-disciplinary geographically dispersed team to deliver a diverse portfolio of complex mining, and petroleum and gas projects, across Queensland. This will include abandoned mine remediation and recommercialisation programs, and management of state-owned non commercial water assets.

Reporting to the Deputy Director-General, Georesources division, you will provide tactical and strategic advice to executive Government and Ministerial staff on sensitive issues and collaborate across the public sector and industry to drive positive outcomes for all Queenslanders.

With a strong focus on project management, economic feasibility, and commercial probity, you will play a critical role in ensuring public safety through the effective management of Queensland's abandoned mines program, while fostering economically attractive investment opportunities that benefit all Queenslanders. What we're looking for: 
• Strong project management experience, in a resource sector or state-owned asset environment.
• Understanding of economic feasibility of resource sector or state-owned asset operations.
• Experience navigating complex commercial, probity, governance and legal frameworks.
• Experience leading remote, dispersed technical experts to deliver broad works/programs and capital expenditure.
• Current open C class driver licence
• Travel away from the centre may be required
