Senior Adviser ICT & Information Policy

- You will enable the implementation and use of ICT in a standard and compliant manner across QCS, by maintaining both a register of all ICT documentation, and intranet site/s for publication of QCS ICT policy and related documentation
- Research ICT requirements, capabilities and risks to produce policies and procedures which are easily understood and useable, and which assist in the use and management of ICT assets across QCS
- Research, develop, coordinate approval, communicate, maintain and review QCS ICT policies and standards (in alignment with Queensland Government Enterprise Architecture (QGEA) ICT compliance requirements) to support management and compliance of ICT across QCS
- Prepare reports, briefs and submissions to senior management about information risk and compliance with whole-of-government ICT policy

Within the context of the role accountabilities described in About the Role, the most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills and experiences against these essential role requirements of the Individual Contributor leadership stream:
- The ICT Policy Officer must have very strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders with competing needs and demands
- You should have high level technical writing skills and a strong knowledge of ICT governance and be able to translate this into policies and procedures
- Understands the relationship between ICT work and the broader QCS requirements
- Ability to analyse requirements and advise on scope and options for continuous operational improvement
- Demonstrated ability to engage, consult, share information and effectively communicate with stakeholders
- Proven ability to design, develop and implement changes to operational policies, systems and creative solutions as required in a changing environment

- There are no mandatory requirements for this role, however a knowledge of the Queensland Government Enterprise Architecture is desirable.
Other conditions and requirements
There may be instances where the incumbent will be required to work hours outside the normal work hours, undertake travel to other locations, or temporarily work from an alternate location.
