Senior Project Officer
Permits; Permissions Management & Ecotourism; QPWS & Partnerships; Bundaberg (Flexible)
The Wildlife Permissions Team sits within the Permission Management and Ecotourism Unit of the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships Division (QPWS&P). The team is responsible for delivering the Wildlife Permits and Commercial Macropod Management Programs.
This position supports the Wildlife Permits team in the assessment and administration of applications for permits, licences, authorities, and leads project related activities with an emphasis on protected plants and animals on state-wide non-QPWS&P managed areas.

For this role, you'll need to:
• Support a team in a complex legislative environment and prioritising team and own workload to achieve outcomes for competing work priorities within timeframes.
• Sound knowledge of the Nature Conservation Act 1992 and subordinate legislation and contemporary knowledge of wildlife (plant and animal) conservation and management practices.
• Interpersonal, problem solving and negotiation skills and the ability to successfully initiate and implement change and continuous improvement in the workplace.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with an ambition to drive results to achieve departmental objectives and takes responsibility for planning and managing programs and projects, understands individual and team capabilities.
• Communication and reporting (including liaison, advice and preparation of written reports and submissions).
• Role model individual leadership behaviours as outlined in the Leadership competencies for Queensland.
• Contribute to workplace safety, equity, diversity, respect and inclusion by bringing your unique experiences and perspectives.
