As a Natural Resource Management Officer in Charleville, you'll lead a small team in the Vegetation Management Unit while contributing to a larger statewide group. You'll guide staff as they process vegetation management applications, providing coaching and technical support to ensure accurate and timely outcomes.
Your role will include researching and analysing vegetation matters, reviewing reports and giving advice to support sound decision-making. You'll also prepare reports, project plans and briefing materials, while keeping information systems and databases up to date. You'll work closely with other government agencies, industry, and local communities to find practical solutions that balance development with sustainable land management. Building strong relationships, including with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders, will be an important part of your role.
As a team leader, you'll review your team's work, support their development and help improve processes and procedures. By applying legislation and policy, engaging effectively with stakeholders, and managing competing priorities, you'll play a key role in shaping outcomes that benefit Queensland's land and communities.
