This is a rare opportunity to play a senior leadership role at the heart of Queensland's justice system. As Senior Principal Lawyer in the Office of the General
Counsel, you will work directly with the General Counsel to deliver expert, impartial legal advice and oversee complex and sensitive matters. Your work will influence high-level decision making across government.

In this role you will:
• Partner with the General Counsel, Crown Law, and external providers to ensure high-quality, value-for-money legal services.
• Provide strategic advice and manage sensitive litigation for the Attorney-General, Director-General, and other senior leaders, particularly in employment and
administrative law.
• Monitor legal developments, anticipate risks, and advise on emerging issues affecting the department.
• Review and endorse complex briefs and Cabinet submissions with legal implications.
• Lead and develop a talented team of lawyers, creating an engaged, capable and empowered workforce.

We are looking for a senior legal professional who can demonstrate:
• Extensive post-admission experience , ideally in employment and/or administrative law.
• A strong track record of providing high-level legal advice in complex public sector or large-scale organisational settings.
• Strategic judgement, innovative thinking, and the ability to manage emerging legal and policy challenges.
• Proven leadership in managing people and resources to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• A Bachelor of Laws and admission (or immediate eligibility for admission) as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland are mandatory.
