Join Queensland Treasury's Legal Services team as a Special Counsel in a role where you will have the chance to utilise your experience and expertise in energy law, commercial, administrative and contract law, and project delivery. This role involves providing expert legal advice on energy matters, managing projects and funding arrangements, and mentoring a team of lawyers. You'll be working in a collaborative environment alongside the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsels, contributing to the successful operation of the Legal Services Unit.
In this role, you will:
• Support the management of Legal Services, including budget, resources and work allocation.
• Communicate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage Legal Services' lawyers and legal products, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Provide strategic direction on Queensland Treasury projects, delivering practical solutions.
What experience you will bring:
• Significant legal experience in energy and commercial matters.
• Proven ability to communicate complex legal advice effectively.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to deliver strategic solutions.
• Successful team leadership in a large organisation.
• Commitment to creating a positive work environment and mentoring legal staff.
