What we are looking for……
* Demonstrated understanding of domestic and family violence and other related reforms.
* Knowledge and ability to participate in the implementation of practical on the ground actions to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families with complex needs and address domestic and family violence and other related issues in the region.
* In-depth knowledge of the challenges and opportunities for remote and discrete Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
* Able to communicate effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and have knowledge of both cultures and societies from a historical and contemporary perspective.
* Excellent analytical, report and brief withing, organisational, time management and administrative skills.

We are looking for a Positive Relationships Cultural Connector (PRCC) to manage the development and implementation of projects to support policy and program outcomes, improved coordination of government services, and the development of solutions to local and regional issues for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Projects managed by this position will focus on domestic and family violence and other related reforms.
Your contribution and key responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, and implement projects that address domestic and family violence and other relevant reforms to deliver improved outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders.
- Provide advice on issues related to domestic and family violence and deliver on the region's responsibilities arising from the Government's response to the “Not Now, Not Ever: Putting an End to Domestic and Family Violence in Queensland” report, focusing on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and people.
- Work with community organisations and communities to ensure a level of understanding of domestic and family violence and the referral pathways to support holistic, integrated responses for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders.
- Work with communities to identify and develop culturally appropriate local solutions to enhance service provision.
- Work closely with local service providers to ensure services are culturally appropriate and targeted to meet local community needs.
- Identify and report on current trends related to domestic and family violence in the region and provide quality and timely advice and analysis to the Program Manager and / or Regional Director.
- Provide advice in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander protocols, history, and issues within the Region.
- Contribute to the region's business unit planning and operational planning.
- Contribute to the evaluation and assessment of whole-of-government policies and programs and resulting outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders.
- Prepare complex and substantial reports, submissions, briefs, memoranda and correspondence.
