We have an exciting opportunity to join our small and dynamic ServiceNow support team as an Application Developer. Working within Queensland Shared Services you will enjoy a rewarding role providing second level support and platform solutions using ServiceNow.
The role will work in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including overseeing platform maintenance, enhancements and support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking system maintenance and assisting in application upgrades.
  • Performing and documenting system configuration and development in alignment with design guidelines
  • Complying with established change management procedures and service levels
  • Investigating and resolving systems support issues within service level timelines
  • Interpreting and contributing to business requirements to enable the documentation of build activities
  • Participating in quality assurance activities including developing and executing unit testing and contribute to test plans and scripts
  • Adhering to QSS policies, procedures and standards and high-quality practices including version control management
  • Understanding roles and responsibilities within the team and how the team supports the organisation
  • Working collaboratively to achieve effective outcomes with a focus and commitment to customer service.
  • Proactively contribute to identifying continual service improvement opportunities

To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in system administration and request fulfilment.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow and your ability to apply this to system support, configuration and change management activities.
  • Apply your problem-solving skills, using practical solutions to address incidents and problems in accordance with SLA.
  • Work collaboratively, sharing and seeking knowledge and expertise to achieve team and stakeholder goals.
  • Demonstrate your communication and negotiation skills with different stakeholder audiences.
  • Demonstrate your experience with ITSM practices such as Incident management, Problem management, Request fulfillment and Change management

Highly desirable

  • Experience with programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML and CSS.

This position is part of the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB) as part of the recent Machinery-of-Government changes. CDSB is currently in negotiations for a certified agreement to cover all CDSB employees. In the meantime, the Core Agreement conditions apply to this position.
