In the role of Manager (Vessel Traffic Services) you will:
• Use your highly developed management, organisational and communication skills to lead and manage the operation and delivery of Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) Centre at Cairns to ensure the safe, efficient and compliant movement of vessels within the Cairns Region area of jurisdiction.
• Be responsible for managing a team of Vessel Traffic Service Operators employed on a continual shift roster ensuring availability of qualified VTS operators at all times.
• Ensure vessel traffic and pilots are scheduled in accordance with established Port Procedures
• Maintain effective relationships with maritime industry representatives and relevant industry to ensure that they are informed on operational and policy issues.
