The Office of the Deputy Director-General (ODDG) provides executive support to the DDG, coordinates the division’s ministerial and executive correspondence, finance, budget, governance, and human resource activities.
As the Director, you will lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the ODDG while also providing high level strategic analysis, information advice and support to the DDG.
The Director reports directly to the DDG, Innovation and works closely with the senior management team of Innovation.

As the Director you will:
• Provide expert, comprehensive and timely strategic advice, and support to the DDG on key issues impacting Innovation operations and strategic objectives
• Undertake projects of a complex, sensitive, or contentious nature as assigned by the DDG
• Have oversight, prepare, or edit high level submissions, reports, papers, statements, briefings, and correspondence relating to significant management issues and coordinate the preparation of divisional responses on a wide range of subjects
• Lead and review mechanisms to effectively monitor outcomes to provide high level support and advice to the DDG in relation to governance, projects, and operational activity across the division
• Develop positive, effective working relationships with staff at all levels across the Division, and Department fostering an equitable, ethical, and safe work environment that emphasises client service with a focus on outcomes and encourages commitment, flexibility, innovation, responsiveness, acceptance of responsibility, accountability, continuous improvement, skills development, and professional growth
• Manage and lead the ODDG in providing support for strategic projects to promote the adoption of best practice finance, human resource management, business improvement, IT and administrative systems and processes within the office.
• Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
