About the Role
As a Senior Data Analyst at QLeave, you'll be central to how we use data and analytics to improve systems, services, and outcomes for Queensland's building and construction, contract cleaning, and community services industries.
Working in the Information Technology and Innovation team, you will collaborate with stakeholders across QLeave to lead data analysis projects, enhance reporting systems, and contribute to data-informed business improvements. You will use tools like Power BI to translate complex data into meaningful insights that drive performance and support strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, interpret and analyse complex datasets to detect trends and create actionable insights.
- Design, develop and present reports, dashboards, predictive models, and visualisations to improve service delivery and business outcomes.
- Evaluate and recommend technical solutions that meet evolving business and data requirements.
- Lead improvements in data quality, systems integration and collection processes across QLeave.
- Manage data-related documentation including data dictionaries, business cases, specifications, statistical reports and presentations.
- Develop strong stakeholder relationships to understand requirements, manage expectations, and deliver fit-for-purpose data solutions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and analytics strategies.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced and curious data professional who brings a proactive, collaborative mindset and a passion for turning data into knowledge. You will ideally demonstrate:
- Strong skills in data analytics, visualisation and reporting using Power BI, and statistical techniques.
- Experience supporting business decisions through the development of dashboards, data models, and machine-learning algorithms.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts for diverse audiences.
- Awareness of contemporary IT platforms such as Microsoft D365, Azure Synapse, SQL databases, AWS Quicksight, T-SQL, R, and Python.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to align data analysis with organisational priorities and operational challenges.
- Experience with data governance, metadata, and information management best practices.
Highly Desirable
The following skills, qualifications, and experience will be highly regarded:
- Experience working in a Data Analytics role, delivering insights that drive business or organisational outcomes.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis across complex datasets.
- Experience in mentoring, knowledge sharing and leading data-driven projects in cross-functional teams.
There are no mandatory qualifications for this role, however relevant experience and certifications in analytics, IT, or data science will be well regarded.
