Responsible Manager - Engineering Fixed Wing

Queensland Government Air is seeking an experienced Responsible Manager to lead a team of Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers supporting our Fixed Wing operations in Pinkenba and Cairns. You will control, organise, plan, and supervise all engineering activities and will be responsible for ensuring all aircraft maintenance is conducted with the highest standard of regulatory and procedural compliance.
The position reports to the Head of Engineering providing support maintaining the engineering budget and will manage all engineering activities associated with tooling, procurement, records management, and training.

The Role:
Queensland Government Air is seeking an experienced Responsible Manager to lead a team of Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers supporting our Fixed Wing operations in Pinkenba and Cairns. You will control, organise, plan, and supervise all engineering activities and will be responsible for ensuring all aircraft maintenance is conducted with the highest standard of regulatory and procedural compliance. The position reports to the Head of Engineering providing support maintaining the engineering budget and will manage all engineering activities associated with tooling, procurement, records management, and training.

What We're Looking For:
Mandatory requirements:
- Possess a current CASA Part 66 B1 and/or B2 & C Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence.
- Minimum ten (10) years' experience as a LAME in aviation maintenance and engineering management and coordination.
- Advanced knowledge of current CASA regulatory legislation as it relates to a CAR 30 and/or Part 145 maintenance organisation.
Highly desirable:
- Previous experience as a Responsible Manager Engineering/Chief Engineer within a CAR 30 or Part 145 Maintenance Organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team in an aviation organisation.
- Experience using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Heavy/deep maintenance experience.
- Hold a Part 66 License with aircraft type ratings for at least one of: Beechcraft King Air 350/360, or Beechcraft 1900; or
- Hold a Part 66 License with engine type rating for PWC PT6A series engine.
Desirable:
- Project management experience.
- Competent with the Microsoft Office Suite
Special Conditions
In compliance with CASA Drug and Alcohol Management Plan requirements, the preferred applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment testing and participate in the QGAir Drug and Alcohol Management Program.
