The Role
Some of your responsibilities will include
• Provide advice to the BHTSP project team, project managers and district staff on applications made under the Planning Act, Transport Infrastructure Act (TIA) and various public utility acts (Commonwealth and State) in the areas of access and works, management of development and third-party impacts and the management of road infrastructure planning and upgrades.
• Implementation of a risk management approach including site visits with applicants, service authorities, consultants and contractors, to formalise the conditions for construction, approval, rejection or conditioning of corridor and Public Utilities & Plant (PUP) activities and structures within the road corridor.
• Coordinate road corridor permits to contain necessary conditions allowing third party and PUP entities to access State controlled roads, to install, modify, operate and remove plant within State controlled roads.
• Contribute to an efficient road network with minimum environmental impact, minimum net public costs and high standards of safety.
• Manage the works so that they are completed in accordance with required timeframes, cost, quality and service standards.
• Identify, investigate and provide policy advice on corridor land management issues and processes relating to internal TMR projects and projects undertaken by third parties within the road corridor.
• Manage the compulsory acquisition of land, easements, title corrections, native title rights and other interests, and the provision of any consequent land tenure service in accordance with the requirements of relevant legislation, TMR policies and accepted procedures.
• Provide advice to internal and external stakeholders on the process and timing for property resumptions, early acquisitions, and the disposal of land.
• Prepare and deliver briefing notes, ministerials and other reports to senior management in a timely and efficient manner. In informing senior management, relevant policy and legislative provisions will be highlighted with options analysis of proposed solutions to the issue considered with recommendations made regarding the options considered.
